Children and Families

We welcome children and their families at St Wulfran’s. Little Fishes, First Sundays and occasional workshops are some of the ways we meet together and grow in our Christian faith. All these activities are currently suspended and we will review with our local families when and how we can resume. Meanwhile we will keep you posted with activities and material for children to use at this time.

Pentecost Ideas for the family

As we celebrate the coming of the Holy Spirit to the first disciples at Pentecost we are also just emerging from ’lock-down’.  A little like the disciples who were together awaiting together for Jesus’ promised helper.

Here are some ideas for you to use with the family to learn or refresh the events of the first Pentecost:

Details of our regular activities in normal times are below.

First Sundays – 10am on the first Sunday of the month –  a more child-inclusive version of the Eucharist with a lively mix of music and hymns old and more recent, and opportunities for the children to participate

We also organise occasional children’s workshop sessions with craft and musical activities, usually on a Saturday morning, on occasions such as Harvest Festival, Advent or Easter. These are open to all, and are advertised locally.

Little Fishes

Little Fishes offers a gentle introduction to the Christian faith for children (0-8 years old) and their parents/carers through play, craft and learning based around a Bible story. On  Sundays during school term time we meet in the Church Room, Ovingdean Road (Ovingdean Nursery), and conclude our time together in the church to receive a blessing and share refreshments.
