Advent and Christmas 2021

Sunday 5 December – 10am All Age Service for Advent – looking forward to the coming of the Light in the birth of Jesus at Christmas

Our children with lit Christingles made at home during lockdown for Candlemas February 2021. Children will be able to make their own Christingles and light them in our Communion service, learning about their meaning in the Advent All Age Service.

Our monthly All Age Worship is Communion Service with a simpler format more accessible for children, with opportunities for them to take part in music, prayers and readings, and learn about our Christian faith. You are welcome to join us, whatever your age.

Little Fishes, our Sunday School sessions for young children are starting up in November

Sunday 28 November and Sunday 19 December 10am

Little Fishes has started again during the 10am service, in the Church Room next to the Village Hall in Ovingdean Road (used by Ovingdean Nursery School).

We will be exploring a theme based on the Gospel story read in church on that Sunday, using a mix of words, music, play and simple craft for  pre-school children, and school-age up to and including Yr 2, with a parent. Younger siblings would be welcome. The session will start at 10am and finish in time to walk to church and join in the Communion part of the service. Pentecost Picnic Praise June 2021

Pentecost is the time when the Holy Spirit descended on the Apostles (50 days after Easter). The Apostles were filled with the gift of the Holy Spirit and they began to speak in other languages. They spread the word and teachings of Jesus. The Dove and the flames are two of the symbols of the Holy Spirit.

Pentecost Mural display in the back of the church.

The Dove mosaic and Fire hand-prints were art activities by children at the Pentecost Picnic Praise. Some hand prints were also contributed by children from Ovingdean Nursery School.
