Developing Discipleship

Developing Discipleship (click to be taken to Chichester Diocese Adult Education Page)

These courses are open to all adult Christians.

Who can do these modules? Some choose a module just for personal interest; others are working towards the Bishop’s Certificate. You can start a module and then decide that you want to work towards the Bishop’s Certificate.

Who runs these courses? Most are run by the adult education team in the diocese. Some are run by other diocesan teams. Others are run by local university faculties, or other outside organisations..

How do I enrol for a module? If the course is being organised by one of the teams from Church House, you can use the Developing Discipleship enrolment forms.

How much work will I have to do? Most modules include preparatory work for each session. Some include presentations during the course. There is a voluntary assessment task (compulsory for those working for the Bishop’s Certificate). If you want a module to count towards the Bishop’s Certificate.

How much do modules cost? This varies. The cost is stated on each module sheet. It does not include a textbook which may be necessary for some modules. The cost for modules run by other organisations is determined by the institution itself. We can offer some bursaries for diocesan led courses, where needed, but not for external ones.

How do I pay for a module? If the module is run by a diocesan department, please send a cheque with the Enrolment Form. The details are on the module sheet. If the module is run by another institution, they will have their own procedures which are also indicated on the sheet.
